For the convenience of
visitors, there is an Information Center which contains
numerous exhibits about the lake and the history of the
surrounding area. The Visitor and Information Center is
located at the South Carolina end of the dam just off
Highway 221. (803) 333-2476 or (706) 722-3770.
Fishing licenses and boat
registrations may be
purchased on-line from the Georgia
Department of Natural Resources.
Pleasure fishing is also
available at the McDuffie Public Fishing Ponds and Fish
Hatchery where ponds are brimming with bass, big mouth bass, crappie, bream and trout. (Permit required.) A picnic area is available as well.
